Dan and Mel are dear friends of one of my dear friends, in fact we all stood in her wedding almost three years ago. I've seen them sporadically here and there over the years and every time I am reminded of how fun and funny they both are. They are also one of those couples that meshes so well together that you think they must have always been together and you just can't imagine them not together.

I love that Dan and Mel are adventurers and are always out hiking or camping in the Pacific Northwest. Dan posts beautiful pictures from these trips on Instagram, you should probably follow him here. Given their love of the woods and hiking and the Northwest, they wanted a woodsy location for their engagement session and chose Hoyt Arboretum in Portland Oregon. I've only been there a handful of times so it was really fun to explore with these guys and take some beautiful photos along the way. It was a fun and chilly session which may include a picture reminiscent of a Bob Dylan cover, a woodsy rendition anyway :)

They've got a good thing, these two, and I'm so excited for their future together.
