Welcome Baby Mason!
I got to take pictures of my cousin's baby Mason, soon after he was born. What can I say? I fell in love instantly. His little fingers and toes and attitude. He's amazing and I'm so excited to watch him grow.
One thing I love about newborn sessions is that I never have any idea how they will go. So often I am taking pictures of subjects and they listen to me when I say tilt your head this way or that or step near this window or that tree, but newborns don't listen a wink; they are just as they are and it's the most precious thing.
I showed my cousin a picture from our session with Mason sleeping and angelic looking and she laughed and said, "you would never know that he cried and screamed the whole rest of the time." and isn't that just how life with a baby goes? One second they are sleeping and dreaming and are the calmest little being on the planet and the next they are screaming and flailing and in need. It's such a rhythm of becoming and growing and I just love getting to experience and document that rhythm with and for parents. I admire all of you moms and dads out there, you have a wonderfully hard and beautiful job.
I hope you enjoy the balance of life with a baby in this images and the teamwork between Erin and Jeff, like when he scratches Erin's nose with his chin :)
